  7. to the United States and work in and for the technically
  8. sophisticated society with a broad approach to computer and
  9. computer-related use.

  19. During the last seven years I have been often to California
  20. (more than a dozen times to Los Angeles and San Franciso) and
  21. made myself comfortable with the US lifestyle in order to adapt
  22. to customers. In addition I visited the SCO Forum in Santa Cruz
  23. for the last three years to meet people from the unix community
  24. all over the world.

  26. Besides technical skills and qualifications I hold a Californian
  27. driver's license class C and M1 since 1987, maintain a mail
  28. forwarding address in Los Angeles and purchased a cellular phone
  29. and service in 1992. I am also familiar with other aspects of US
  30. business life so you can expect a minimum time to adapt.

  67. Since 1987 to present I worked as a contractor

  69. -    for several companies, i.e. computer firms which buy my
  70.     services to enforce their sales and support personnel and
  71.  
  72. -    for corporate end-users providing advice and help for computer
  73.     and network use, installation and support for computer systems in all
  74.     locations, training of the employees.

  78. During these years I sold and installed a large number of
  79. systems and networks on a wide range of network nodes. Besides
  80. the SCO-Unix, Univel UnixWare and Novell NetWare (including
  81. DOS/Windows) operating systems I installed and supported on a
  82. broad scale of hardware, including brand names like AST, ALR and
  83. NCR systems, so-called 'clones' and a broad range of peripherals
  84. (graphics solutions -GUI- including X11 client/server; multi I/O
  85. boards and terminal servers; terminals/PC clients; printers;
  86. communication devices i.e. modems/X.25 packet switching/dedicated 
  87. lines; network hardware).

  89. By providing all network design and installation I helped to
  90. develop a Unix based hospital computer system granting digital
  91. access to X-ray and other data stored on microfilm without loss
  92. of graphical data. After two years this project done with
  93. Deutsches Microfilm Institut (DMI) in Muenster was introduced as
  94. world premiere in 1991 at InterHospital in Duesseldorf, Germany.

  96. Participation of the SCO Forum in Santa Cruz in 1991, 1992 and
  97. 1993 broadened my view of Open Systems and helped to
  98. understand the US market.

  133. supervision and can also work very well in a team. Also I am an
  134. easy communicator and like to work with users/clients on all
  135. levels (with professional manner and appearance). I am open to
  136. accept responsibility for projects and personnel.

  141. The Internet and other network communication are challenging to
  142. me. I participated in building and maintaining german networks
  143. like the SubNetz e.V. (*.sub.org) and actively use UseNet /
  144. Internet since the mid-eighties. I built network access servers
  145. through Unix UUCP, CompuServe and other gateways and helped
  146. users to get the most out of it.

  149. Citizenship/Visa:

  151. With my German citizenship some visa sponsoring for the H-1
  152. program will be necessary. A San Jose lawyer specializing in
  153. this field is currently processing my education evaluation; he
  154. may help with visa processing if no other source handles this
  155. issue (i.e. company legal counsel).

  158. Salary Expectation/Availability:

  160. A starting salary of about US$60.000+ per year with the option
  161. to increase on the job. I am available immediately for an
  162. interview; for relocation as soon as possible (or as soon as the
  163. H-1 visa is granted).
